Re: Computer woes.
Based on your situation and unwillingness to dip into savings, I can't even guess what budget you do have for a computer, but I was in a similar place a month ago, with a 5 year old laptop that limped at the lowest settings and began randomly shutting down. I ended up building a machine (with help) ...

Re: Final Fantasy XIV?
Also playing, also thoroughly enjoying it. My biggest gripes so far are mostly with myself; my hands are trained to do things the WoW-way, and I am struggling to adjust to new keyboard shortcuts, etc. Gripes- Emote system is needlessly annoying, and incredibly limited. The text entry field is far to...

Thank you thank you! I've watched the video, will be begging for the book as a Birthday present, and am making the rice/beans for dinner tomorrow. Can't wait to try it, Yum!
Re: My Toxx
The other thing I've done is start to make my own bread (or make most of it) using the "Healthy Bread in 5 minutes a Day" system. It's still bread, and I still don't eat it much, but when the ingredients list is Whole Wheat Flour, Whole Rye Flour, wheat germ, flax seeds, a little AP flour...

Re: Final Fantasy XIV?
Several people I know in the beta have said it is no better than XI. Also someone I know in the beta who had not played FFXI said that XIV is extremely unintuitive and hard to get for new players. I was in the open beta this past week. Never played FFXI either, and I also found the game to be extre...
Re: My Toxx
Oh wow, reading all of this was quite inspiring! The goal to "lose this extra weight" has been one I've carried around for years and lately started working on again. Since this seems to be a popular topic, I wanted to put forth some of my own ideas/thoughts and see what y'all think of them...

I would be very interested in bringing Ethel, as I never saw much past Gruul/Mags. That is, if you've room for a rather haphazardly geared and played Unholy DK, who isn't a Rider.

Re: Feathermeet 2010: Put Bacon On It!
Pry, you can just put those pics on the Art subforum. It's members-only and that way you can also pretend to be a photographic artiste. Anyone have directions to the Art subforum? I can't find it. It's not on Google maps. And I'm beginning to suspect it is all made-up moon man talk. Do we have to b...

Re: Feathermeet 2010: Put Bacon On It!
Warning: I will leave some of you out. I am bad with names, worse with faces, and have the short term memory of a ferret. I met most, if not all of you, at least once, and liked every last one of you! Ovi and Val: "Thank you" is not enough to express the fabulous time I had, and how gracio...
