Alternative: a kobold lich king. The whole world is safe until you take his fucking candle.

Yarly becomes the Lich King. Nothing is different, but the corpse on the bridge in Ironforge has armor with skulls on the knees.

Jaina becomes the Lich King. You can't possibly be weepy and melodramatic in a helm that badass, can you?

Oh, wait.

Invincible.

Shit.

Varian and Garrosh have to lead their respective cities, so they're out. At least we KNOW Garrosh is out. Varian's probably an out too, he doesn't seem like the sacrificing type. Muradin's too small to fit in that armor, even if it does change size to fit the current wearer. etc etc

The likeliest candidates are Saurfang, Bolvar, and Jaina. Jaina I'm going to more than likely say is a no. While a Lich King/Queen with boobs would be cool, I don't see it happening really, despite her self sacrificing nature. I'd say if we redeem Bolvar he's the most likely candidate.

Or maybe, this is how they kill of Rhonin. With how many complain about the character, it could definitely work.

Frostmourne: "Fool! No man can control me!"

Jaina: "I'm no man! Rrrrrrrrah!" *Sheathes Frostmourne.*

Player-base drops by 85%.

It makes me happy my faction leader is not a total asshat.

The other part, I'm not sure how I feel. I know Varenna will be Extremely Unhappy to hear that the Dutchman Must Have A Captain, possibly to the point of rejecting it as bullshit. Which raises a possibility- it may be bullshit. We're theorizing on information that came out of Frostmourne. Since when has Jaina Sue been qualified to hold a séance? And yes, the thing's talking in Uther's voice- but again, Frostmourne. Also the originator of such great ideas as "You know, you should totally start learning necromancy just like those guys you were obsessed with destroying, and then be a Death Knight," "Hey, you know what would be cool, kill your dad the king and destroy your own kingdom," and "I hear that Lich King position has a vacancy, you should so go for that." I do not quite trust this spoiler to be exactly what it says on the tin.

That said, if it is what it says on the tin, I do think Bolvar is a leading candidate. Dude's already theoretically had his face melted off, not like he's got his looks to worry about. Mograine seems likely too-- he's already got sort of a mini-lich king vibe going on with the Ebon Blade, he's got good cursed sword wielding credentials, he has fabulous hair, and it would give him a reason to exist after Arthas bites it.
Personal isn't the same as important.

Why would the player base drop? Lich Queen = undead tatas, and like half of the horde have this weird thing for Sylvanas, I mean look at all the pictures of-- nevermind.

Edwin van Cleefe, Lich King of Carpenters.
