Keep in mind the little which has been said only mentions armour, not weapons.

I'm curious as to what this is going to mean for PvP - being able to judge relative gear power by sight is not going to be feasible if this goes in.

Also curious as to whether there'll be a secondary move to more obscure sets after the first wave of everybody skinning up in the Paladin tier 2 set.

Anyhow, I'm just looking forward to being able to have Illi wear the Iron Riveted War Helm again.

Here is an official preview from the European Warcraft site.

They even mention the Black Mageweave set.

EDIT: And they mention weapons, so it seems that both armour and weapons are reskinnable. DUAL GOREHOWLS FOREVER FOR ILLI!

Unfortunately with the exception of guns, bows and crossbows, the weapons will need to be the same type as the weapon you're re-skinning. Also you can't re-skin weapons to look like any legendaries. Which is boggling to me as you would think the people who managed to get legendaries would be among those who would most want this feature so that they could get the most of their incredibly rare items.

I've already got Shai's outfit figured out. Since it's Shaila it's gotta be a bit understated and humble, no extravagant stuff.

And now that I think on it further, Norvallen could use that blue-recolor Judgement set...

Also, there's like a million random greens, particularly from Wrath and Cataclysm zones, that are completely awesome on their own and I wish I never had to upgrade from.

Good lord, the possibilities of this thing are making my brain hurt.

I've put together a shopping list for Zeve's gear. It involves Ulduar and Naxx.

Luckily all my pieces of gear are either world drops or from quests I haven't yet done.

I was taking this as a given. I've already started making plan for who needs to hit where - I have eight level 85 Alliance characters, so my list is going to be pretty large. My priest needs to complete his tier 6 set, my warlock her tier 8... I'm planning on organising some reskin-gear legacy raids and suchlike as the weeks progress.

They're working on a way for people to be able to get gear they can't anymore, such as the DK starter gear or gear that was phased out with Cataclysm. I am happy about this, as I really really liked the DK starter gear.
