Wildfire Riders

Loreli frowns, this was not what she'd been expecting.

"Its good to take care of family. When did he go missing?"

(for context sake, we should move this up from the original post to last week).

"'Bout a week ago. Slim Willie cursed out half the crew then said he was going to find a new one. Said he had one in mind. He stormed off, an' we didn't see hide nor hair o'him till a few days ago. He came to me, pale as a ghost. Said he figured something bad was going to happen. Said he needed help. Told him to meet us in the safe house... He never showed up. Slim is lots of things, but he wouldn't not go to the safe house if he was scared. And Lore, he was real scared."

Andry shakes his head.

"I don't know what he figured. But he was--sorry--he cursed folk out. Slim didn't apologize when you twisted his arm. Something spooked him."

Loreli's frown deepens as Andry unravels his story. She's not really feeling up to pro-bono work but how can she turn him away?

"What exactly did he say when he said he was leaving? I might need to speak with the rest of your crew."

Andry looks past Lore as he tries to remember.

"He said he was tired of being picked on and pushed around. he said this isn't how a crew works. He said the new boss--no, he said master--would treat him better. And that life would get better. And that those that annoyed him would burn. Slim wanted to be a wizard, but he could barely do math. Not the brightest bulb in the bunch...but he was in our bunch."
