I suppose it's hard to work stuff on this scale into everyday RP, but this sort of content really is worth paying attention to (even if about 1% of the people actually reading this, if that, is actually going to get to see this entire event somewhere other than YouTube, given what we know of it's genuinely insane difficulty).

Here's my question to you all, thinking overly big, and stemming from the random theorizing over how stories like this may develop (and quite potentially will, as it's a given that WoW's got a limited lifespan):

Put in their words, what's your character's view on the Titans,the creators, and all the revelations in the Storm Peaks and Ulduar?

Relevant edit: For the sake of the argument, let's say they actually know, even if canonically, they don't.

And what does your character do if they know the end of Azeroth is nigh?

"I think the Titans are, at the same time, the most intriguing and the most terrifying beings I've ever heard of. They've always struck me as intellectuals, first and foremost. Warrior scientists even! They travel the universe, bringing order to the various worlds that they encounter in chaos.

At the same time, I believe their potential for destroying Azeroth is even greater than the Burning Legion. Right, the Burning Legion has many powerful demons. But thinking of these demons has never instilled in me a greater sense of paralyzing fear than I get thinking of what would happen if the Titans decided we weren't on their side. The Burning Legion only has one being of Sargeras' power. The Pantheon has many.

So what kind of relationship do we have with them? I feel a sense of loyalty to them. After all, we couldn't have existed without them, could we? I'm of course operating under the assumption that they created vrykul as well, as we encounter stone versions of them in Ulduar's Halls of Lightning. But on that note, we couldn't have existed without the Old Gods either, could we? After all, humans only came about after the Curse of Flesh. Should we feel a sense of loyalty then to the Titans? True, they seem more benevolent than the Old Gods. They spared us even though we came about because of the Old Gods. But is that only as long as we stick to their Order? And why do they get to decide this Order? We're living our lives the best we can, fighting against the Burning Legion and other threats, just trying to survive.

What if this isn't enough for them?

So for a long time, I've played around with the question of "What did the humans do for worship before the Light?" I came up with a sorta vague paganism, as much Gaelic as Norse, mainly for use as a story element by anyone interested in random fanon. The introduction of the Keepers, and humanity's origins as warped Vrykul, gave me a whole lot to work with in that regard - basically, the idea that ancient humans, maybe even pre-Arathor, worshipped the Keepers as gods. Fun times.

Tarquin has himself always been irreligious, but harbors an affection for the old pagan legends of the Keepers = because, well, they're fucking cool. That's kinda how he rolls. Arriving in Northrend, he discovered that the Stormlord, the Lady of the Green, Goldentongue, et. al, were no myth but reality - and that reality was just as nasty, sordid and vicious as that of any human family. These are the kind of "gods" (for lack of a better word) that he likes. And of course, they're getting properly fucked over.

He's got a lot of reasons for going into Ulduar - profit, weapons to use against the Lich King, the lingering threat of whatever it is they're meant to guard in the depths - but one of them that he won't readily admit is a form of religious outrage. The idea of something keeping the gods of his misty ancestry as pets is downright infuriating, and whatever's in there is going to have to answer to the creativity of one twisted criminal mind.

When he finds out what's really going on down there, you can be sure he's going to do his damnedest to stop it. The apocalypse is really, really bad for business.
