The day starts out normal enough.
Naiara wakes up first, at the crack of dawn. She gets her breakfast and is set to play while Bricu and Threnn go over Jabs and Defenses. This time, Bricu doesn't walk away with a black eye.
Threnn watches Naiara while Bricu fixes their breakfast. There's some talk over scones--cinnamon ones with brown butter and powdered sugar--about how Bricu is planning on getting Noy's bottle of Arathi 30 and how he'll broach the sore subject with Tarquin. They make plans for lunch at Galahad. There's an attempt to switch laundry duties, but Threnn's got a new idea for a blade in mind. The couple kiss, Naiara grabs her mother's nose, "MUM NOSE!" and Threnn heads to forge. Bricu dallies with a quick dance with Naiara--she holds his index fingers while they sway to a song he sings--then he gathers the laundry and heads to Old Town.
By Midmorning, he's up to his forearms in dirty diapers. Threnn's pounded out the rough outline of a long sword. Naiara is holding court with stuffed animals. Her favorite, the seal skin mistsaber, purrs and roars at the dolls, gryphons and beautifully carved treents.

One does not realize how heavy a child can be until that child, complete with her toys, blankets, clothes and her snacks, is napping in one arm. Even if said arm is used to swinging a sword through steel, a sleeping child is heavy and difficult to carry. Their snoring makes it an easier burden to bear.
Bricu carried the laundry, and Naiara, back to their small apartment at the Rose. With his daughter still napping, Bricu reached the forges as Threnn finished up her first round of folding the steel.
Town Criers spread the days headlines. No scandals or news on the front, but the talk of a series of murders throughout the city. Rumors were flying fast and furious: A bloated body was found in the canals. The source of the body was attributed to everything and nothing: a forsaken invasion, a drunk or something else. The rumors and the news was closer to work than either Bittertongue would want to acknowledge. Instead, they went to Galahads.
Lunch was shortened by Bricu's directions on how to make his scones. A bottle of Arathi Whisky-40 years aged-was added to the heavily discounted tab.
They finished lunch and switched roles. Threnn took Naiara, Bricu went to the Pig to meet with his jewelery clients...

The sun was out, the day warm, and that meant a stroll through the market and an hour in the Park. Naiara crawled around gleefully, getting grass stains on her knees, then grasping at Threnn's fingers and toddling around on wobbly legs as her mother held her up. She rrrRRRrrRed at the druids by the moonwell and continued on, narrating their slow circuit with a steady stream of babytalk.
On the way to Old Town, they bumped into Robert Bell, who tossed Naiara up in the air once, twice, three times. He giggled nearly as much as she did.
Then they came to the fabric shop, where Thenia and Padraig cooed over their granddaughter, and Maggie the shopgirl bragged to the customers in the store about how soon Naiara would be walking on her own.
Threnn kissed Naiara goodbye, and headed deeper into Old Town, to the chandler's shop where Annalea lived. She and her sister were long overdue for a talk.

Very little natural light pierced the smoke and din of the Pig and Whistle. Rumors did not have the same difficulty. Day drinkers, drunks and the occasional snitch would spend a few coppers on a drink and walk away a few silvers richer if Bricu thought they had something worth while. Today, however, a local merchant wanted new necklace for his newest mistress. The snitches had to wait.
They waited an hour for Bricu to finish with merchant. In the end, he took a rate that was half as much as he would have charged just four months ago. His good mood ended shortly the velvet clad merchant left the Pig, then Bricu held court. Half of the rumors he dismissed out right. Forsaken attacks. Uthas' newest plague. The Beast's Feeding Frenzy in a warehouse... Unreliable sources with poorly told stories.
Two warranted a silver. One knew something about the bounty on Tarquin. The other other made mention of a which snitch--the one who "knew" about Uthas--was a plant from the Costras. Bricu added the snitch's name to List of People To Deal With on Tarquin's Return.
One walked away with a solid crown. He was a day drinker and a chain smoker, a rogue turned writer. He gave Bricu the list of names of the men murdered in the Warehouse. Familiar names from Old Town. Some names that were on his List. The reporter told him one more fact, yet to be published by the guard or the papers...

(The recap is incoming, as are fics and assignments. But before the story goes any further..
Folks, thank you so much for a brilliant event. This is a story that has been planned for roughly eight months, and while I made some mistakes, I think it went off beautifully. Thanks go to Uthas, Tarq, Yva and Threnn for all the hard work and brilliant ideas they had, as well as for editing my own crazy ideas. I do not have the proper language skills to tell each of you how much I appreciate your friendship and creativity.
Thanks also to Bell, Ulth and Pauric/Dravir for rolling with a complicated plot. You guys took a half baked idea and made a chocolate souffle. Thank you for the fic, for communicating and the hard work.
Another Shout out to Shad who took the role of Unconscious Padraig and utilized it for some directed character development.
Finally, Thanks to Lore, Pitch, Shaur, Wind, Roulette, Corise, Duug (brilliant use of old school table top ideas!), Kestil (howdy!), Beltar, Chelody, Arrens and Aely. You took the leads, made your own and rolled with the RP in ways that stumped me. If I missed a name, please remind me or add it to the list.
While I am quite pleased with the way yesterday happened, if you have any constructive criticism, please feel free to share it either on the board or a PM. Thank you, all, again for the fantastic RP last night.))

Naiara's Kidnapping:
Giorgi, a Rider, was found floating in the canals outside the Al'Cair business. There was a spree of murders inside Stormwind. Padraig Al'Cair was beaten nearly to death.... And No one could find Thenia Al'Cair or Maggie, their shop keeper.
Bricu, Ulth and Bel had their own arguement, while Bricu coordinated the search from the Pig.
The first set of clues led Riders, and their friends, to Kalimodor. There, after interrogating as many people as they could find, they come up empty handed.
Meanwhile, Tiforis has followed a different lead. Following the report of a guard, he followed the westfall road to Darkshire. There all of those invovled in the search scoured Westfall, Duskwood and even parts of Stranglethorn Vale. They found nothing. Scouts at Sentinel Hill reported that they saw two women, and a baby, headed towards Darkwood....but no one saw them.
On the road, Yva discussed scrying. Bricu revealed two important facts: Naiara is warded. More importantly, Naiara isn't the Bittertongue's baby's true name. Scrying would not work for Naiara.
Pitch finally smelled something. In a shallow grave near the crossroads, he found the charred remains of two women. Neither woman had an identifying feature or any id. In a foxes burrow a few yards away, he also found the mangled remains of a baby. Duug and Pauric noticed something odd about the bodies. Lorelli attempted to determine if the baby was Naiara. Pauric attepted to bring the dead bodies back to life. Duug realized that the women ingested something, buringing their bodies from the inside out. While Lore could not rule out that the child was Naiara, she and Corise began to wonder about the child's parents and how to properly bury the baby.
Pauric reasoned that the women sacricied themselves to become Shades, spiritual servants of the lich king. Duug was disgusted by this fact, as in order to become shades, one must take their own life for the lich king.
Thenia and Bricu have their differences. Thenia being a cultist was not one of them. The women did not seem to be who they appeared to be. Duugvlider cleansed the bodies of foreign magics and Pitch leaned in far, far too close comfort and confirmed it. They were not Thenia and Maggie. The bodies moved out of the way, Duug and auric discovered another clue: A vial containing the liquid that the women must have used to kill themselves.
At the end of then night, they were left with:
Two false leads and three corpses.
Ties to the Cult of the Damned and a potion from ICC.
No idea where Naiara was.
Bricu and Threnn waited for Annalea to come home to care for Padraig. What they didn't know was this: there was a third clue waiting for them at their door.

More importantly, Naiara isn't the Bittertongue's baby's true name. Scrying would not work for Naiara.
Since I wasn't around for that part, just to clarify: did Bricu not want to give out Naiara's true name to Yva, even for the purpose of scrying, or does he himself not know it?
