Wildfire Riders

Frank Frazetta has passed from this world.

You could credit Tolkien and Howard for defining what the Fantasy genre is today, just as you could say Gygax and Arneson helped codify fantasy gaming. These luminaries are now joined by Frazetta, who nearly singlehandedly defined what fantasy art is. His influence is visible in practically every brushstroke in that body of work-- traditional through to digital and back, whether it's novel covers, RPG supplements, video game concepts, comic books, and even rock album covers.

Suffice to say, he is one of my favorite people ever.

Do yourself a favor and spend some time looking at his work.

Ah man... I've been trying to educate my roomies about Frazetta art this past week.

So many 'founders' of modern fantasy and gaming have been passing recently. Maybe they'll be able to set up a gaming table for themselves in the afterlife.

Man. If after my own passing someone voices a similar sentiment, I'll know I did something right.

This man was one of my main inspirations that got me into art, my father had books with his work that I would sit for hours and stare at.
