Tirion's Retreat

Tirion stalked his prey. He had grown accustomed to strange beasts in his travels, but this one was something new. It had wings yet it waddled on land. It squeaked when surprised, squawked when it was disturbed and cooed when it was pleased. It was fearless in its explorations. Its feet were webbed, with no claws to speak of. It had a large beak, but Tirion was sure he fast enough to avoid it.

He watched as his prey waddled past him. Hidden behind his favorite chair Tirion pounced. He landed with his claws extended. His prey squawked in frustration, but he held on tightly. His prey ran, faster than he thought possible, then shrugged its shoulders and flapped its flightless wings. Tirion lost his grip and fell. He hissed as he landed on his paws. His foe rushed him, but Tiron was undeterred.

Until he was poked in the face. Tirion managed to jump back before the beak did any real harm, but it hurt. Tirion's foe chased him into a corner. Trapped, much like a previous foe, he prepared for a fight to the death. His foe hissed and lunged at him. Tirion's composure broke: He had to flee. He leapt onto the air and landed, briefly, on his foe's head. He leapt again and fled to the safety of the bed. His foe followed him, hissing all the way.
