so I think I found out what was wrong with my network card

I DIDNT HAVE ONE LOLOLOLOL

So, yeah. New card appears to be workin' fine, and new software for antivirus is installing as we speak. Updates/rants as they come.

As a side note, if you uninstalled Norton via the Add/Remove Programs menu in Windows, Norton may not have been completely uninstalled. You need to download a special removal tool from Norton, otherwise the antivirus/firewall may continue to function invisibly in the background and mess things up.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it's called the Norton Removal Tool.
