A Brawl is coming...

There Will Be Brawl is a live action series done by some indie group out in somewhere in Eastern Canada. Featuring the beloved characters of the Super Smash Brothers series in a film-noir style, the Old Kingdom is down on its luck. Mafia dons Mewtwo, Ganondorf, Bowser, and Dedede wage a bloody turf war over the city, while the corrupt police (lead by Police Chief Link) maintain a vicious crackdown on... well, anyone and everything.

Our great plumbers have fallen to the wayside, once great heroes, now struggling just to get by on illicit power up trades.

Review: Exciting. When I was shown the first episode, I peed myself a little. The actors are decent (some are awesome) and it's an amusing concept. And really, it beats the hell out of American Idol and Survivor.
After that, I waited... and waited... and killed some more time, before episode 2 came out. Something to do with The Escapist picking up and sponsoring the budget caused a time delay. Episodes come out once a month or so, and I am fairly pleased so far.

Okay I watched.

I'm going to curl up in a corner and stare blissfully at the halogens wishing to capture the same sort of unmitigated win. And listen to the Godfather soundtrack.

After watching the whole thing today on a friend's recommendation, I had to go reload Episode 4 from the start just to watch Ganondorf's first appearance. Entirely awesome stuff, specifically the monologue about Hyrule. "Men lived and died by the sword - they, they protected or damned their families by the weight of their sack." Badass.

(I may have registered just to type out that line.)
