Virus?

Post by Lansiron »

I dunno what happened, but I think my computer's caught...something. WoW's decided not to work at all, and a few other programs are also screwed.

I may be absent for a time, myself (at least more than usual). Hoping to still try and get Alishe's artwork up shortly.

Can someone convey my apologies to Chelody (assuming she isn't reading this) for missing the Rose event tonight? >_<

Update.

Motherboard's fried. I figure, this has happened to everyone else, I seem to recall, so I guess I was just next in line.

I have absolutely no ETA on when this is going to be fixed. =_= I'm hoping to get my old computer running again so I can at least try to get some artwork up. Wish me luck.

I'm already here!

(Where else am I gonna be where there's a computer working? XD )

And weighing whether it's worth it to buy a $100 PCI video card (A PCI, not PCI-Express, GeForce 8400? what the fffffffffffff) to replace the fried one in my old computer just so I can do some gamin's.

You know...I've discovered that an apartment without a working computer in it is a cold, dark place. I'm regressing to the caveman days in there or something.

By any chance any of you guys got an unused AGP-format video card laying around? That, you know, can survive the mail. I'll like, shoot you a free sketch on that joyous day when my scanner can be used again. >_>

My house is a computer graveyard, so I'll poke about and see if I can find anything.
Now hang me by this golden noose
'Cause I never been nothin' but your golden goose
Silver tongue don't fail me now
And I'll make my way back to you somehow

I am also living in a computer graveyard, so I will also poke around.

Tarq's residence does indeed have an awesome 64 meg AGP video card. >_>

I'm alive!

Old computer's up, with a new (but still obsolete) video card. Haven't yet seen if WoW works (we'll see tomorrow, as the client's still downloading/updating) but at least I'm back among the living.

Incidentally, the pinups thread in the guild forum is updated, too, with Alishe. You can probably expect the commissioned art to start showing up here over the course of the next week, too.

Now awaiting a new motherboard for my good PC, and the jury's still out on whether the contents of that hard drive are salvageable, but even so...damn it's good to have a computer again.
