Frank Frazetta has passed from this world.

You could credit Tolkien and Howard for defining what the Fantasy genre is today, just as you could say Gygax and Arneson helped codify fantasy gaming. These luminaries are now joined by Frazetta, who nearly singlehandedly defined what fantasy art is. His influence is visible in practically every brushstroke in that body of work-- traditional through to digital and back, whether it's novel covers, RPG supplements, video game concepts, comic books, and even rock album covers.

Suffice to say, he is one of my favorite people ever.

Do yourself a favor and spend some time looking at his work.
