When I illustrated this story, I tried to keep my artwork with the feel of Shaila's words. I think that this story has a powerful message of never giving up hope, and having faith in the ones you love, as well as yourself. I really hope that children and parents enjoy this tale together, and that my depiction of the stockades wasn't too scary!

Hi everyone! Shaila here! I hope that your kids like the story Chelody and I made for them! And I hope they take it to heart, too. It's good to be strong, but it's best to be strong alongside your friends! So never give up, even in the darkest times. You'll make it through no matter what, and your friends will be there for you at the end of that tunnel! There's always a light at the end! Also I'm not sure what Nezrak will write in his part of the introduction but please don't take to heart anything he says. Gnomes are wonderful engineers and I actually follow their discipline myself! But goblins are good too! Oh and please support BrainBlam books so that they can pay their editors more. They keep leaving in Nezrak's diabolical laughter!
