For those interested, The Nobles Deck

Post by Aleros »

Some new interesting patch notes popped up today,
Jessica Sellers, a new vendor in the Dalaran inscription shop, will sell most inscription inks for the cost of one Ink of the Sea. She also sells Snowfall Ink for multiple Inks of the Sea.
The big thing that made cards so expensive was you literally needed about 12 stacks of herbs per darkmoon card craft, and you had a 1 in 4 chance of it being a noble, the most desirable of the 4 different decks. What this new development means is that the hardest component to get, the snowfall ink, is going to be much easier to get. I have over 500 ink of the sea sitting in my bank from making cards. The immediate market trend? Scribes are going to make a bunch of cards the day the patch comes out, the price is going to plummet, but the price is not going to stay low. This will raise the price of eternal life considerably, to the point where cards will again go back up. As the demand for cards slowly goes down, the price of cards will again go down, eventually to the point where they will be cheaper than right after the patch. So the time to buy will either be right after patch or much later on down the road - months down the road.

As a side note, I will probably be more than willing to provide the inks for crafting cards for anyone so long as they provide parchment and 3 eternal life required.

What I'm getting from this is that I'd better go farm as much Crystallized Life as I can now for future Moonshroud cooldowns. Yikes.

-stops buying snowfalls inks. Stockpiles Life. Muahahahhaa.-

Also, Card prices are redonkulous. Thank god for that ink service.

Well played, sir. But you lose points for suggesting any amputation of the Jewfro.

Couple days ago, maybe a week, the average AH price for an Ace of Nobles was 3.75K gold. Finding one for the "low low price" of 2K, I decide to buy it and try to near double my investment.
Aaaand then Ace prices drop to about 1400 a pop...
Aaaand now this.

This is my sad face.

Man, I hope the conversion rate from ink of the sea to snowfall ink isn't too bad. Seems I'm going to be having a lot of people throwing stuff my way.

Here's the shimmy folks.

Ink of the Sea to Snowfall ink is 10 to 1, so I don't have nearly enough crafts to cover people. HOWEVER, I am offering full services if you guys have the capability to gather herbs.

The recipe to make a random darkmoon card of the north is 3 eternal life, 1 resilient parchment, 6 snowfall ink and 3 ink of the sea.

A mill of herbs takes 5 herbs of any type from northrend for this particular recipe's requirements. Out of one mill, you will get 2-4 azure pigment, 2 azure pigment gets you 1 ink of the sea. There is a 25% chance ( 50% chance from adder's tongue, lichbloom, and icethorn ) that you will also get an icy pigment ( and a rare chance to get more than 1 icy pigment, but this is very rare ). It takes 2 icy pigment to make a snowfall ink.

So the recipe is 6 snowfall ink and 3 ink of the sea, or some combination of those where 10 ink of the sea can be substituted for 1 snowfall ink. Figure that an average stack of herbs will get you 12 azure pigment and 1 icy pigment. Two stacks gets you 12 ink of the sea and 1 snowfall ink. You're probably looking at about 8 stacks of herbs on average per darkmoon card craft, less if you get lucky or if you use some of the more expensive herbs, more if you have poor luck.
