I played Cylinn for a while last night. Thanks to Threnn and Bellesta for making me feel welcome.
“Do you have another box I can put this one in?” Cylinn held the stained and drooping box up for the man who was collecting packages to go back across the ocean. One battered turkey head stuck through the top, its wattle flicking in the wind.
“What in the name of King Wrynn of the chin do you have in that box?” Cylinn dropped the box on the crates that served as the table and opened the box. She proudly displayed her handy work. Fourteen very battered and very dead turkeys squished into the box.
“Bellesta said it would be okay.” Cylinn stammered, wondering why the postman was looking at her in that odd way. “She said just cram them in a box and send them.” He just kept staring at her. Maybe cause she could not get that one head inside? Sucking in her bottom lip, she quickly snapped the turkey’s head and stuffed it so it was also secure in the box. Then she closed it up. “There! Everything in!”
The postman just shook his head and handed her a wooden crate.
“Wow! That’s perfect. Thanks!” Grinning, Cylinn stuffed the full box into the crate. She poured some salt over the turkeys and then helped the postman hammer the lid of the crate in place. She then carried the crate onto the ship. Then the postman said that he would ship her crate for no charge if she moved some more crates for him.
In the end, Cylinn held two shiny gold coins for a few hours work that would have been easier than hauling around hay bales at home. Hopefully Bellesta really would not mind the battered turkey corpses. Without a second thought, the warrior went back to the nearby inn to buy some soup for dinner.
